Miami University music ensembles are open to all Miami students regardless of major. Jazz ensemble auditions are held separately. As a performance group, Ohio University Women's Ensemble (OWE) gives women an opportunity to study, rehearse, and perform choral repertoire from a wide variety of musical styles and genres. Placement auditions for the Fall semester for Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra will be held during the first week of classes. True to the spirit of an outstanding liberal arts university, the ensemble is open to students of all disciplines by audition each semester. Auditions are open to ALL students enrolled at The Ohio State University, regardless of major. Auditions for Spring 2020 will be held Sunday, Jan. 5 – Wednesday, Jan. 8. This degree program is tailored to students with varied talents and interests who will benefit from the rigorous artistic demands made by specialized courses in the School of Theater, while also meeting the challenges of a liberal arts education. This ensemble is a 107-voice all-female choir with talented students from diverse majors. The School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD) is a highly selective professional school encompassing programs in music, dance, theatre, and musical theatre. All auditions will take place in the Glidden Recital Hall except where noted. Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Collegiate Winds — by audition. Audition schedule signups will be posted about two days before auditions begin, outside of Glidden Room 497. in Theater is intended to serve students who want both a theater major and a broad liberal arts foundation.
