The 3-drop might not look like much but it enables some heavy hitters. So I'm at a crossroads with what I should do with building a mono-Blue commander deck.
I've seen versions of this deck that play more Gigadrowses and even Exhaustion so that even if you have to give a turn back to your opponent, you'll feel safe knowing that they won't be doing much. Top Oathbreakers; Mono.
I've built and torn apart Arcum Dagsson and Azami, Lady of Scrolls and I have Talrand, Sky Summoner proxied up, but I'm not exactly thrilled with how the deck is turning out and I don't want to have a deck that I never play because it isn't fun. This is a disruptive mono-blue aggro deck, or a deck that looks to cast early creatures and then use counterspells or other disruption to stop the opponent from developing their game plan. Since Blue isn’t really that skilled at blowing things up all of these board wipes revolve around mass bouncing effects. The commander we’ll be building around today is Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, a mono-blue legend from Dominaria, and the 23 rd most popular mono-blue commander, with 165 decks at the time of this writing.
